Virturian Wife - Misty Copeland
Acrylic on canvas, 70X50cm.
The first African-American to be promoted to principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater (one of the world's leading classical ballet companies), Misty Copeland has been a trailblazer in the world of ballet.
Her mother was a ballet teacher and she grew up watching her dance. Her ballet teacher also told her that she was not good enough to pursue professional dance and "blacks have no reason to do classical ballet."
Glossy varnished. Signed on the back.
