BECERRA, Francisco (Chile, 1984). “The silence of the scream”, (2014). Acrylic on canvas, without frame. Certificate of authenticity is attached. Measurements: 65x90cm (85x100cm without frame). Having graduated in philosophy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2008), Becerra studied art at the Da Vinci impressionist school (Barcelona 2009-2010), later graduating as a Higher Technician in arts applied to the wall (Painting) at the Escola Massana (Barcelona 2010- 2013). Among his exhibitions we highlight those held at El Colmado space for culture and creation (Barcelona 2010), Collective at RAI ART space for creation (Barcelona 2011), participation in the MISIVA project, Czech Republic, as well as the mural intervention in the Brno metro ( 2012). I am interested in being faithful to myself and portraying reality exalted in color and form. The plastic language of Francisco Becerra enjoys a singularity that makes it easily recognizable: his images seem to melt over a slow fire, they acquire a deliquescent quality. Let's rescue his words: "Boil the images and progressively approach a fluid and human sincerity." This way of working with the image endows scenes with costumbrista or apparently banal themes with an uncertain sacredness and an arcane aesthetic. On other occasions, he breaks down reality into particles or tesserae that simulate pieces of stained glass that require our retina to reconfigure. As for the architectural interiors, they tend to purge themselves of any element that disturbs the encrypted order of a hidden reality.

The artist breaks down the instruments into overlapping geometric planes of vibrant colors (ochres, golds, grays, and reds), in a pictorial homage to music and Synthetic Cubism.
