Author: Gerard Sala (Tona -Barcelona-, 1942). Title: Perfum de l'ocell flies over me. Description: Mixed media on panel made in 1996 by the Barcelona artist Gerard Sala. Measures without frame 61x54 cm. Certificate of authenticity is attached. Artwork in good condition. Gerard Sala Rosselló spent his childhood in Palma de Mallorca. He currently lives between Badalona and Sant Joan de les Abadesses. He trained at the Massana School, the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts and at the School of mural painting in Sant Cugat del Vallès. In 1979 he began his activity as a professor in the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, being an emeritus professor. He has had numerous exhibitions in the country and abroad, his Artwork can be seen in museums and public and private institutions. Gerard Sala dedicates himself essentially to painting, but he has also Artworked on engraving, lithography, sculpture, murals, set design and poetry. His gestural painting dominated by blues, occasionally broken with mauve and red. The figuration is subject to the rhythm imposed by the senses and his Artworks are surfaces full of lyricism. Identified with some approaches of Romanticism, on the one hand, and Taoism on the other, his Artwork has recently also diversified through sculpture and poetry.
