Provenance: from the son of one of his dealers Modest Cuixart i Tàpies (Barcelona, 2 November 1925 - Palamós, 31 October 2007) was a Spanish painter, one of the most representative of the Spanish post-war period, co-founder of the Dau al Set group together with Joan Brossa, Antoni Tàpies, Joan Ponç, Arnau Puig and Joan-Josep Tharrats. Together they founded one of the most important art and thought groups of the 1950s, bringing with them the second avant-garde movements of the 20th century.

He lived in Paris for four years, during which he came into contact with the Artwork of Jean-François Millet (1814-1875), whose painting linked to realism and naturalism decisively influenced his artistic career.
