Mª Assumpció Raventós Torras studied at the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, at the Friedllander engraving Artworkshop in Paris and at the Conservatory of Book Arts. For his artistic merits, in 1991 the Government of Catalonia awarded him the Creu de Sant Jordi, the highest distinction awarded by the Catalan government. She is a member of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Artists Sant Jordi. She belongs to the group of artists who have been pioneers in tapestry techniques, at a national level, and is one of the artists who, during the seventies, became involved in the world of tapestry that emerged in the Catalan School of Tapestry in Sant Cugat. From figurative beginnings with cubist and expressionist influences, his Artwork has evolved towards an informalism of austere but delicate harmonies, with great sensitivity for the qualities of materials and the effects of textures. She is a multidisciplinary artist who has been able to express herself in all the languages at hand.
