THE DALÍ COLLECTION (1960–1975)

Provenance: Private Collection, held for over 30 years.

Authentication: Each item features a large-format hand-applied ink signature by Salvador Dalí on the obverse and a blue thumbprint "seal" on the reverse. Each item have certification.

Context: A numbered sequence (1 through 15) documenting the most significant public events in Dalí's hometown, centered on the birth of the Teatro-Museo Dalí.

nº 1 · Postcard Portrait de Dalí (20.5 × 10 cm)

It is a portrait of Salvador Dalí wearing a traditional Catalan barretina (red cap), and it carries a unique charitable and historical connection to his home region.

• The Edition: Special edition produced for the benefit of the Hospital of Cadaqués.
• The Photography: Portrait by Fotos Meli (Melitó Casals), Dalí’s close friend and personal photographer in Figueras for decades.
• The Signature: Large expressive ink signature on the front and blue thumbprint on the back.
• The Stamping: Spanish stamps including Mariano Fortuny, Goya’s Duchess of Alba (1.50 ptas), and postmarks from Figueras and Gerona dated May 1971.

The crown jewel of the collection. The original Nº1 entrance ticket from the Teatro-Museo Dalí in Figueras.

Exceptional original invitation to the official opening of the Teatro-Museo Dalí on September 28, 1974.
