Descendant of decorative painters, he studied at the Bilbao School of Arts and Crafts and received scholarships to study in Paris, Germany and Italy. Member of the Association of Basque Artists, he was a professor at the School of Arts and Crafts in Bilbao. Basque-themed painter and rural and urban landscapes, with forays into religious-themed paintings, such as the one included. In the 40s and 50s he painted and exhibited actively, being recognized with several awards. Artist of the second generation of Basque painters, a contemporary of Arteta, Mogrebejo or the Zubiarre brothers. In 2003, an anthological exhibition and a commemorative book of his Artwork were held at the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum.
On the back there is a label from the shop that sells paintings by Mauricio Santos, Machín's successor, on Calle Perro 4 in Bilbao.
