Autor: Ángel Simarro (1944). Título: Odalisca. Descripción: óleo sobre lienzo pegado a tablero firmado en el ángulo inferior derecho. Medidas sin marco 55x46 cm. Obra en buenas condiciones. Magnífica pintura de temática orientalista, que representa una joven Odalisca en pose clásica. En esta obra, el artista ha utilizado una técnica preciosista para lograr los suaves matices de la piel de la joven, tanto del rostro cómo del brazo y mano. Por otro lado, los efectos de los drapeados de la túnica y de los abalorios que la adornan, se han obtenido igualmente con sosegado e intenso trabajo hasta lograr el resultado buscado. Obra de gran calidad que acerca ésta magnífica pintura a las calidades que obtenían los grandes maestros españoles y europeos que se dedicaron a cultivar esta temática, especialmente en los siglos IX y XX que, debido a la dificultad de su ejecución ha ido disminuyendo en la práctica actual.

    Alberto Rafols-Casamada (Barcelona, 1923 – 2009), was a poet and painter. Rafols-Casamada began his studies in architecture but abandoned them to dedicate himself fully to the visual arts, thanks to the support of his father, Albert Ràfols i Cullerés. The painter was awarded the National Prize for Plastic Arts by the Ministry of Culture in 1980, the National Prize for Visual Arts of Catalonia in 2003 and was an honorary academic of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
