Atribuida a Joaquim Sunyer i de Miró (Sitges, 1874 - 1956). "Desnudo femenino sentado" (1936). Óleo sobre lienzo firmado y fechado 36 en el ángulo inferior derecho. Medidas sin marco 91,5x72,7 cm. Obra expertizada por el Centre d’Art d’Època Moderna (CAEM), de la Universitat de Lleida. La pieza presenta un buen estado de conservación, a pesar de que la falta de tensión ha formado ondulaciones en las esquinas del lienzo que, a la larga, podrían poner la integridad de la obra en entredicho. La tela presenta dos intervenciones que corresponden a sendos agujeros en la tela y que se encuentran en el lado izquierdo de la obra. El de la parte inferior fue cosido y después reintegrado, mientras que al de la parte superior se le aplicó un parche cuadrado que creemos que se extrajo del mismo lienzo, pues en el borde derecho de la obra falta un cuadrado de tela con las mismas medidas. Además, vista la microscopía de ambas telas, parche y lienzo presentan el mismo aspecto. El equipo del CAEM, tras una pormenorizada investigación, ha atribuido la autoría de esta pieza al pintor sitgetano Joaquim Sunyer (1874-1956). La construcción de la pincelada corresponde de manera clara con la del artista, y si bien la paleta de pigmentos es común en la época, el estudio exhaustivo de las formas y también de la firma ha facilitado de manera definitiva la atribución. “Desnudo femenino sentado” corresponde a la que fue una de las temáticas predilectas de Sunyer, juntamente con el paisaje, pero con un carácter de estudio que puede entenderse como un respiro entre sus desnudos de estilo más postimpresionista y novecentista; en este sentido, se trata de un lienzo único que abre la puerta a nuevas lecturas de la obra.
