Carles Guitart se inicia en un marco muy próximo al expresionismo abstracto. Posteriormente, y sin renunciar a la importancia que otorga al color o al tratamiento plástico de las primeras obras, se adentra en la plasmación de un mundo interior propio, que busca la atenta mirada más que el efecto primario. Su obra se ha expuesto por todo el país.
