A spontaneous, realistic, large-format portrait from the MUGOTES collection, painted in acrylic on canvas by Chus Galiano. He holds a degree in Arts from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and a Master's degree in Art: Idea and Production from the University of Seville. THE COLLECTION ============== MUGOTES is a tribute to worthy historical figures, remembered not only for their talents but also for their unique mustaches. The collection consists of twenty-four colorful, large-format portraits, painted with acrylic pigments on double-width stretcher bars. These unique and diverse mustachioed figures, such as Albert Einstein, Marlon Brando, "Cantinflas," Mario Bros., Jimmy Hendrix, Chaplin, and Prince, among others, are refreshed in our memories with the painter's distinctive pop style, especially in this figurative series of popular veneration. The style of this limited collection is based on a sustained dialogue with color that erupts to the rhythm of house and funk through spontaneous and realistic lines, full of splashes and drips. BIGOTES opened in October 2020 at the Casa de Las Sirenas in Seville. The exhibition has also visited the towns of El Viso del Alcor (Seville) and Chipiona (Cádiz). THE AUTHOR ========= Chus Galiano is a Spanish artist born in Seville (1975), a multidisciplinary artist with a strong pictorial vocation. His Artwork is found in collections around the world, and he is distinguished by his refined and vibrant use of color as a central language of communication. His approach is based on an intuitive and accessible palette, capable of generating immediate emotional connections with the viewer. Through free, childlike, and spontaneous compositions, he constructs sensorial landscapes that invite contemplation, channeling energy, optimism, and balance. Color is not only a key element in the creative process, but also the vehicle that transforms each piece into a direct, stimulating, and positive visual experience.
