David Rivera: "Creative Prison" (2025) "An intimate and dense whirlpool of visual energy," similar to a "chaotic secret garden" enclosed in a dark frame that acts as a window or container. The earthy brown/black background with stripes provides a rough texture and depth. It evokes scorched earth or ancient bark, upon which a wild gesture explodes: splashes and strokes in lime green, electric blue, red, yellow, and white that form stems or abstract plant figures ascending like sprouts or vegetal flames. There is a precarious balance: the chaos is concentrated in the center and expands toward the edges, but the painted inner "frame" (irregular brown stripes) contains it, creating tension and focus.
