  • Maria Girona: "Oli in a llum" 119/140

    Engraving signed and dated 86 in pencil by the artist. Numbered 119/140. Measurements without frame 50 cm x 65 cm. Artwork in good condition. Maria Girona participated in the October Salons 1948-1955, with Tàpies, Cuixart, Todó, Ràfols-Casamada and others. She is part of the Els Vuit group, influenced by Torres-García. He had a scholarship from the French government 1950-1955, and participated in various biennials. She was later the artistic and personal partner of Albert Ràfols-Casamada, influenced by Fauvism. He shared lyricism with him, and distinguished himself after Ràfols-Casamada, with his figurativeism. The engraving is part of a series of Artworks by various artists (Alfaro, Català-Roca, Gudiol, Guinovart, Dalí, Tàpies, Tharrats, Robert Llimós, Cuixart, Amat, Amanda Adams, Hernández Pijuan, Ràfols-Casamada,...) , collected in the book 'L'Art per a un projecte històric: homage of Catalan artists to the II International Congress of the Catalan Language'. The Artwork has a note engraved, in relation to it, in relief on the paper. Maria Girona founded the Eina design school (1967).
