Dora García: "The whole and the fragment, the totality of the fragment, the fragmentability of the whole" Collection V 190/392

Author: Dora García (Valladolid, 1965). Title: The whole and the fragment, the totality of the fragment, the fragmentability of the whole (2013). Description: copy 190 of 392 from Collection V of the project "The whole and the fragment...". Signed by the artist in the lower margin. In good conditions. The project reflects on the idea of community and makes a metaphor about the functioning of social networks. Each HAVAS MEDIA contact received a single page from a book previously chosen by the artist Dora García, so they became owners of a fragment. The page of a book is much more than a piece of paper. These fragments are necessary to give meaning to a whole, since their absence implies a mutilation of meaning, sometimes irreparable. The pages always hold their potential to form a complete volume that makes sense.
