Autor: Edgar Degas. Título: El Hogar (the fireside, 1876-1877). Descripción: Grabado monotipo sobre papel, no se considera técnica de reproducción múltiple, por tanto cada reproducción del grabado es sutilmente diferente y única. Degas se esforzó por representar el cuerpo femenino con la mayor realidad, las mujeres dedicadas a los rituales íntimos del baño y los burdeles se convirtieron en sus temas frecuentes. Durante la decada de 1870, cuando las novelas por J.-K. Huysmans, Edmond de Goncourt, y Émile Zola se centraron en la floreciente profesión de la prostitución, Degas también estudió el mundo de las Maisons Closes, e hizo unos cincuenta dibujos manchados de tinta grasienta en vidrio o placas de metal que imprimió como monotipos. Firmado Degas en el ángulo inferior derecho. Firmado 'Emil Gascon 25.000F' en el reverso del passpartout. Medidas marco: 46 x 33 cm. ; Medidas pisada: 16.5 x 22.5 cm. Medidas papel: 20 x 30.5 cm. Obras en buenas condiciones a pesar de la edad.
