Small oil painting on cardboard by Juan Vila Puig, unframed, 19x24 cm, authenticated and auctioned by Castellana Subastas. Joan Vila Puig Sant Quirze de la Serra 1890 — Bellaterra 1963 Vila Puig's teachers were Joan Vila Cinca and, later, at the Llotja School of Fine Arts, Modest Urgell. His artist friend, Joan Vilatobà, arranged for Vila Puig to be granted a scholarship by the Sabadell city council in 1917 to complete his studies at the Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid. In Madrid, he frequented the Prado Museum, where he observed and copied Artworks by Titian, El Greco, and Tintoretto.
