Author: Francesc Masriera Manovens (1842-1902). Title: Portrait of Dolors Serra Chopitea (1893). Description: oil on canvas signed and dated 1893 in the lower right corner. Measures without frame 150x100 cm. Artwork with signs of age (see photos). Dolors Serra Chopitea was the daughter of Dorotea de Chopitea y de Villota and the banker Josep Maria Serra. Married to Isidor Pons y Roura. Francesc Masriera i Manovens (Barcelona, October 21, 1842 - Barcelona, March 15, 1902) was a painter, writer and goldsmith. With a great knowledge of the trade of silverware, he also developed a solid training in painting. He cultivated the genre of portraiture and anecdotal painting, a witness to the life and customs of the Barcelona bourgeoisie of the time, which earned him great social recognition.
