His son was Alexandre Pons i Serra, industrialist and politician. Francesc Masriera i Manovens (Barcelona, October 21, 1842 - Barcelona, March 15, 1902) was a painter, writer and goldsmith. With a great knowledge of the trade of silverware, he also developed a solid training in painting. He cultivated the genre of portraiture and anecdotal painting, a witness to the life and customs of the Barcelona bourgeoisie of the time, which earned him great social recognition.
