Hatem Akrout was born in 1955 in Sfax, Tunisia. "...Hatem Akrout is a painter of spring. In the gardens of Hatem, spring is not, unlike what Botticelli showed us, a time of harmony and balance. Far from the Renaissance ideal, Hatem immerses us in a reality reduced to its most daring materiality, a place of incessant struggles and conflicts, where elemental components and forces, in a frenetic post-winter dance, collide, intertwine, invade, proliferate, and boil, degenerate, explode..."
