Iwayan Parsi "Nagi Ubud Escuela de arte" 1995. Acrílico sobre lienzo firmado a mano. Medidas 72x58 cm. Obra en buenas condiciones con signos de la edad. Iwayan Parsi "Nagi Ubus Escuela de arte 1995" El estilo de la pintura se puede considerar generalmente como la Escuela de Pintura de Ubud,un estilo que evoluciono por primera vez a fines de la década de 1920 y que aun continua en la actualidad. El estilo es la combinación de elementos narrativos y técnicas Balineses tradicionales con elementos de pintura moderna occidental. A finales de la década de 1920 y principios dela década 1930, dos artistas expatriados occidentales que vivían en Ubud; expusieron a los pintores locales a nuevas ideas y aspectos técnicos y la primera forma de turismo en Bali fue responsable del auge de los nuevos estilos de pintura que se clasificaron como arte tradicional balines moderno. Por supuesto, hubo innovaciones en el arte balines que ocurrieron antes de esto por parte de los mismos balineses, sin embargo, la propaganda impulsada por las autoridades coloniales Holandesas que proporcionaban Bali como destino turístico cultural nuevo y unico esculpido una narrativa que no era del todo cierta. La narrativa de la pintura es la interpretación del artista de la famosa actuación de Calonarang, una danza sagrada purificadora que se lleva a cabo regularmente en los templos de Bali para limpiar la energia negativa y los malos espíritus de los pueblos. En esta actuación altamente dramática, estos dos personajes tienen una lucha simbólica, el enfrentamiento de dos fuerzas opuestas de lo positivo y lo negativo, que estan en constante conflicto en todo el cosmos y en la tierra según las filosofías Hindues-budistas balineses. La actuación generalmente incluye una gran cantidad de otros personajes que desempeñan varios roles, incluidos hombres que caen bajo el hechizo maligno de Rangda e intentan suicidarse con sus cuchillos ceremoniales conocidas como Kris.
