Joan Tortosa. "Carrer Safaretjos" (2018) Painting on canvas. 46 x 61 cm. Very good condition. Joan Tortosa Saperas (Sant Cugat 1929-2023) was a painter deeply connected to Sant Cugat del Vallès, with a career marked by the dialogue between art, heritage, and cultural identity. Trained at the Llotja School in Barcelona, he developed a personal pictorial language, sensitive to space, memory, and the symbolism of the territory. His painting combines formal rigor, chromatic sensitivity, and a strong conceptual charge, situated between interpretive figuration and symbolic reading. He exhibited his Artwork nationally and internationally, projecting a vision rooted in the territory with a universal reach. As a painter, Tortosa understood art as a tool for preserving collective memory and building cultural awareness.
