Autor: José Gutiérrez Solana (Madrid, 1886 - 1945). Título: Visión del Carnaval. Descripción: óleo sobre lienzo firmado en el ángulo inferior derecho. Se adjunta certificado de autenticidad emitido por D. Adrián Espí Valdés. Medidas sin marco 82x100 cm. Obra en buenas condiciones. José Gutiérrez Solana pasó su infancia en Santander y, alentado por su padre, inició estudios de pintura con su tío. Su talento precoz le llevó a abandonar el bachillerato y a empezar a participar en varios certámenes de pintura. Su estilo, heredero de la tradición tremendista del genial Francisco de Goya e influido por autores como Roualt, Munch, Kokoschka, Nolde y Soutine, define el carácter de un hombre adusto y torturado. Ello se traduce en una pintura marcada por la aparición de personajes populares y de los bajos fondos, con los que Solana muestra su particular visión de la condición humana. Autor de corte realista, se le considera el introductor del movimiento expresionista en España.
