Reproduced by the Enciclopédia Catalana and Espai Subirachs. Signed and numbered 456/999. Includes study book and certificate of authenticity issued by Judit Subirachs-Burgaya and Albert Pèlach i Pàniker. Sculpture dimensions: 16.5 x 35.5 x 9 cm. Housed in a wooden box measuring 30 x 47 x 19 cm. The box has a damaged hinge and clasp. The sculpture is in good condition.

Josep Maria Subirachs i Sitjar (Barcelona 1927-2014) has been one of the most internationally renowned contemporary sculptors, as evidenced by his numerous awards and recognitions, as well as the presence of his Artwork in numerous museums and public spaces in cities around the world, primarily Barcelona. He has also participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in public and private museums and galleries. Since 2017, he has had a museum dedicated to his Artwork in Barcelona, the Espai Subirachs. In his Artwork, Subirachs synthesized technical mastery and the purity of materials and textures with the desire to communicate and express a symbolic and transcendental language, through the creation of his own universe of iconographic references. Subirachs has also Artworked in painting, drawing, engraving, posters, tapestries, book illustration, jewelry design, medal minting, and stage sets for prestigious theater and ballet productions. He has Artworked as an art professor and, in the theoretical field, as a writer and contributor to magazines and newspapers, as an art critic, and as a lecturer worldwide.

He is one of the most representative sculptors of our country, who has also had an outstanding role as a painter. Domènec Fita i Molat has a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Barcelona. It began in religious sculpture. In 1947 he was part of the Grup Flama. His creations stand out for the great heterogeny in the use of techniques and materials, his innovative spirit being constant. Fita is one of the names of Catalan contemporary art, difficult to describe due to the diversity and plurality of its creations. He is a born researcher who has made a long creative journey from figuration to abstraction. He has religious Artwork in many churches and temples and also in prominent public places in different cities. He has held numerous exhibitions and his Artwork can be seen in leading public and private museums. In the city of Girona he has the Domènec Fita Foundation, which covers a large part of his career.
