Kira Von: "THE MEMORY OF THE CAVE" (2025)

Attention! Start session for bidding for this lot.

The Artwork presents a contemporary and expressive interpretation of cave art. At the center of the composition appears a mammoth surrounded by small human figures, evoking a hunting scene and one of humanity's earliest visual narratives. The painted surface combines ochre, brown, green, gray, black, and red tones, creating an earthy atmosphere reminiscent of cave walls. The various signs, hands, lines, schematic figures, and symbols distributed throughout the composition function as a kind of primitive language. Beyond the representation of a prehistoric scene, the Artwork proposes a reflection on a profoundly human need: the need to leave a mark and transmit a story. The mammoth occupies the center of the composition as a symbol of the power of nature, while the small human figures represent humankind confronting a still unknown world. The signs and hands that appear around it can be understood as a metaphor for humankind's first attempts to communicate, remember, and endure. The brushstrokes are deliberately spontaneous and expressive. The artist combines recognizable forms with gestural elements and textures that lend the Artwork a naive, primitive, and contemporary character. The piece invites the viewer to imagine the story behind the image. It is not an archaeological reproduction, but rather an artistic reinterpretation of the language of cave art from a contemporary perspective. An original Artwork with a unique aesthetic, especially interesting for collectors of contemporary art, naive art, and Artworks of symbolic and primitive inspiration.

The paths and experiences that led him to this world of abstract art began unexpectedly. After years painting landscapes and figurative oil paintings, that moment was a ray of light, a spark of passion and enthusiasm, filled with thoughts and daydreams of expressing what chance, at times, flows through your mind with a sense of indifference. Motivation, sacrifice, and perseverance are necessary to achieve your own identity and allow you to visualize the unknown and profound inner world in order to transmit the gestural and informal magic onto the canvas, board, or paper. of a modus operandi that characterizes him. The creation of his Artworks allows him to communicate a style of influential sensations capable of attracting the viewer. My artistic journey began in the early 1980s with a strong inclination towards landscape painting and the use of oil paint, representing natural scenes with precision and sensitivity. This approach was focused on capturing the beauty of the environment through a figurative and technical language. Over time, I experienced an evolution in my style, moving away from realism to delve into abstract art. This change allowed me to free my creativity from formal limitations, exploring forms, colors, and textures that do not respond to a literal representation of the world, but rather to a more intimate and emotional reflection of my thoughts and perceptions. In abstraction, I found a freer and more personal medium to express what flows through my mind, allowing my emotions, ideas, and inner visions to take shape without restrictions. This transition marked a new stage in my Artwork, where gesture, spontaneity, and intuition became the protagonists. The content of this expression is the humble reflection of an abstract mind.
