Visibly affected, she wipes her tears with a handkerchief while swearing to tell the truth, her hand resting on a closed Bible. The scene, constructed with Lídia Vives' characteristic aesthetic meticulousness, is set in a courtroom and is charged with emotional tension. On the table, in addition to the Bible, lies evidence of the crime: a black and white photograph that alludes to the crime being judged. In this piece, the artist blends the solemn with the artificial, generating an ambiguous and theatrical image that reflects on truth, justice, repentance, and the staging of emotions. As is typical of her Artwork, the viewer is invited to unravel the symbolic elements hidden in the composition. This Artwork was exhibited at the Espai Cavallers gallery (Spain) during the solo exhibition Dear Diary in 2024. SHIPPING: The Artwork is delivered signed and numbered, along with a certificate of authenticity. It is shipped well protected with cardboard and bubble wrap. The package includes cotton gloves for handling and a postcard signed by the artist. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Lídia Vives (1991) is a photographer and visual artist based in Barcelona. Her Artwork has been published in magazines such as Vogue Italia and Esquire, and has been exhibited internationally in prestigious museums and galleries such as the Louvre (Paris) and the Saatchi Gallery (London).
