DESCRIPTION OF THE ARTArtwork:
Sign in is a conceptual self-portrait that pays visual and emotional homage to the millennial generation through a body collage of pop icons, brands, TV shows, toys, and iconic characters from the 90s. The image, printed on methacrylate with a glossy finish, shows the artist's body covered by more than a hundred logos digitally tattooed on her skin, as if her identity were being constructed. based on the audiovisual and commercial culture that saw us grow up.
From Neon Genesis Evangelion to the Spice Girls, the Tamagotchi, the Petit Suisse, the test card, and Boomer gum, this Artwork speaks to collective memory, nostalgia, and the construction of identity through everyday life. The title "Sign in" refers to the idea of connection, of entering a system—be it a social netArtwork or a generational narrative.
Visually, the Artwork is reminiscent of television test cards and the glitch aesthetics of the analog era, fusing 1990s symbolism with a sober and direct mise-en-scène. The face, neutral and frontal, contrasts with the visual chaos of the body, reminding the viewer that we are all products of a time, an aesthetic, and a shared archive.
This Artwork is part of the photographic series "The Signature".
