Loïc Tarin Doud seeks to define and convey the stature of modern man within the original natural world, the innate human need for expression, and our propensity to create and transmit myths and legends: that desire to leave a mark, a voice, an echo of our experiences. He observes his subjects through a kaleidoscope of perspectives. His almost Cubist portraits merge with a cold, modern iconography, intertwining with ancestral images of animals. He externalizes the ephemeral nature of the subjective perception of the present and our modest place in time. His visual language incorporates spontaneous rock art, as well as the most satirical and cynical urban expressions of graffiti and street art. This paradoxical coexistence of ancient memories and contemporary visions forms a kind of anachronistic future vestige that manifests the continuous evolution of the creative act.
