Maria Girona participated in the October Salons 1948-1955, with Tàpies, Cuixart, Todó, Ràfols-Casamada and others. She is part of the Els Vuit group, influenced by Torres-García. He had a scholarship from the French government 1950-1955, and participated in various biennials. She was later the artistic and personal partner of Albert Ràfols-Casamada, influenced by Fauvism. He shared lyricism with him, and distinguished himself after Ràfols-Casamada, with his figurativeism.
