REPLICA OF FRANCISCO CHACON'S LACE Francisco Chacón (fl. 1474-1501) was a Spanish-Flamenco painter active in Toledo, senior painter to Queen Isabella the Catholic. Francisco Chacón is documented in 1474, cited as "comendador and resident of Toledo" in a payment document of two cahíces of wheat by order of Archbishop Alonso Carrillo de Acuña. In it, in addition, he was already mentioned as "painter of the princess" the same year of his accession to the throne.1? On December 21, 1480, Queen Elizabeth appointed him her senior painter, with the functions of overseer or visitor of the painting to prevent offenses to religion, as can be seen from the document by which the appointment was made official, which established:
