  • Menologion Bizantino de Oxford, s. XIV

    Edición facsimilar del Menologion Bizantino de Oxford, cuyo original se conserva en la Biblioteca Bodleian de Oxford (Ms. Gr.th.f.1). Editado en 2006 por AyN Ediciones. Contiene una serie de miniaturas que retratan la vida de los Santos. Hay una miniatura por cada día del año, empezando desde el 2 de septiembre y terminando el 31 de agosto. Se distribuyen en cada página en grupos de cuatro. El códice contiene también 10 miniaturas a página completa representando la vida de Cristo. El Menologio de Oxford es una pequeña gran joya, única dentro de los manuscritos bizantinos de su género que data del siglo XIV. Pequeña por sus reducidas dimensiones, pero de extraordinario valor por la riqueza ornamental de sus miniaturas y por su singularidad, ya que este códice constituye una excepción dentro de la amplia producción bizantina de libros de temática religiosa. Su originalidad reside en que todo en él está integrado por imágenes enriquecidas con gran cantidad de oro, más de un centenar de miniaturas con cerca de cuatrocientas escenas individuales en sus escasos cincuenta folios, es decir, que el libro es pura imagen, sólo están verbalizados breves epígrafes, indicadores del contenido de las escenas, y el bello poema que sirve de colofón y que condensa la información mínima esencial sobre el libro: programa iconográfico, utilidad espiritual, riqueza ornamental, patrón y propietario. Mucho más que un mero libro piadoso, se trata en realidad, de un objeto personal de devoción y protección espiritual, muy cercano a la función tutelar de una reliquia o un amuleto. Edición limitada a 995 ejemplares. Facsímil del códice original encuadernado en piel de vacuno envejecida sobre madera y estampada en seco, formato 11 x 13,8 cm. 112 páginas bellamente iluminadas que contienen 103 miniaturas enriquecidas con gran cantidad de pan de oro. Textos en griego antiguo. Libro estudio complementario formato 25,5 x 36 cm. Encuadernado en tapa dura tela con sobrecubierta a color, cinta guía. 234 páginas ilustradas, textos en español e inglés.
