MUZ-MARTINEZ, INNOCENCE, 2026 ACRYLIC ON CANVAS 61X50 The Artwork presents a female figure with a childlike appearance, suspended between innocence and unsettling, transformed into the symbolic axis of a dense and emotional atmosphere. Muz-Martínez constructs the image from a deliberately fragile, almost spectral, figuration, which is strained by a textured background where color and texture act as memory, wound, and accumulated time. The use of deep reds and dark glazes envelops the figure in a psychological rather than a physical space, suggesting an inner narrative laden with ambiguity. The dress, treated with drips and impasto, seems to dissolve, as if identity itself were in a process of decomposition or transformation. The small presence of the red heart on the chest functions as an emotional anchor point, a heartbeat that resists the pictorial chaos that surrounds it.     Alberto Rafols-Casamada (Barcelona, 1923 – 2009), was a poet and painter. Rafols-Casamada began his studies in architecture but abandoned them to dedicate himself fully to the visual arts, thanks to the support of his father, Albert Ràfols i Cullerés. The painter was awarded the National Prize for Plastic Arts by the Ministry of Culture in 1980, the National Prize for Visual Arts of Catalonia in 2003 and was an honorary academic of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
