Medidas sin marco 84x66 cm. Obra en buenas condiciones con signos de la edad. Josep Mª Avilés su formación se realiza en la Escuela Massana, donde se gradúa en esmaltes y pintura mural, y donde posteriormente ejerce como profesor. En 1971 es nombrado director de la Escuela de Artes y Oficios del Penedés (Sant Sadurní d’Anoia). En 1975 viaja a EE.UU donde trabaja en el taller de grabado de L. Fauvion. Es profesor de la Escuela "Llotja" de Barcelona. Sus obras muestran un contenido de reminiscencias arqueológicas que plasma con indiscutible perfección técnica. Son obras reflexivas pero directas, en que antes de sumergirse en el trabajo de la tela, reflexiona y piensa sobre los conceptos y su significación. Su obra queda avalada por las numerosas exposiciones por toda Europa y en los Estados Unidos de América.
