Author: Rafael Cuartielles (Barcelona 1932-2018). Title: Untitled (2016). Description: Drawing on paper, Mixed media. Hand signed and dated by the artist. Measures without frame 35x25 cm. Artwork in perfect condition. A certificate of authenticity issued by the Peragón Art Gallery is attached. At the age of 12, he began in the world of painting, instructed by Jacinto Oliver and other artists of the time. Later he entered to study painting at the Acadèmia Baixas, one of the most important post-war institutions in Barcelona. Later he entered the Barcelona School of Arts and Crafts (La Llotja). In 1962 he went to Paris to complete his artistic studies. There he moves through the most avant-garde environments of the time and sells all his Artwork up to now. Later he returned to Barcelona and combined his prolific artistic activity with teaching at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona (1979-1998). He has exhibited on several occasions in art galleries in Paris, Miami, Japan, Italy, Spain..., he held his first exhibition in 1952. His Artwork has been valued by a multitude of renowned critics such as José Vallés Rovira, Francisco Galí, Vicente Amiguet , José Arnau, Juan Luis Montaner, Pere Falcó, Josep Maresme, Luis Doñate, etc. As prizes to be highlighted among many, the Excel·lentíssim Senyor Vizconde de Güell Prize (Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona, 1958); Jordi Ferrero Award. (Parés Room, 1959); First Prize for Painting Silver Medal Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc (1960); First Prize for Painting from the Barcelona Provincial Council, which earned him a scholarship to continue his studies at the Superior School of Fine Arts in Paris (1962); Joan Miró Drawing Contest (1984) that was presented in three Japanese capitals; and the most recent, First Prize for Painting (Fine Arts Sant Jordi) dels Països Catalans, Fundació Perelló (2005). Much of his Artwork is the heritage of many collectors around the world.
