Autor: Ramón Capmany Montaner (Canet, 1899 - Barcelona, 1992). Título: Sin título. Descripción: grabado sobre papel realizado por el artista barcelonés Ramón Capmany. Medidas aprox. con marco 43x36 cm. Se adjunta certificado de autenticidad. Obra en buen estado de conservación. Capmany Montaner, Ramón. Pintor, dibujante y grabador. Nació en el seno de una familia noble; por línea materna fue descendiente del primer conde de la Vall de Canet, fundador de la famosa editorial Montaner i Simó, una de las más importantes del país e intro­ductora de los grabados de Gustave Doré en España. Su tío, el arquitecto modernista Lluís Doménech i Montaner, le apoyó en su decisión de dedicarse a la pintura. Fue discípulo del profesor y pintor Francesc Labarta, primero en la Lonja y después en la escuela del Districto V. En este entorno entró a formar parte del grupo Els Evolucionistes, inconformistas con el Noucentisme idealista, y que más tarde se fusionaron con el grupo Les Arts i els Artistas. Sus primeros óleos muestran influencias de Eugène Boudin, maestro de Monet, cuya obra conoció en sus largas estancias en París. Allí pintó entre 1918 y 1922, 1924 y 1925 sobre todo paisajes urbanos con influencias de la pintura impresionista. También aprovechó para asistir a clases de dibujo en la acade­mia La Grand Chaumerie. Su pasión por el circo le llevó a pintar uno de los primeros óleos conocidos de su etapa parisina, Figuras (1919). En 1921 tuvo la oportunidad de exponer su obra de forma individual en la Galería Dalmau. En 1923 par­ticipó en el Concurso Plandiura. Las dos obras pre­sentadas, La fuente y Gente de mar, quedaron selec­cionadas y premiadas. Las creaciones de estos años muestran una cierta influencia del constructivismo cezanniano. En 1925 se premió su participación en la Travelling Exhibition de Nueva York.     Alberto Rafols-Casamada (Barcelona, 1923 – 2009), was a poet and painter. Rafols-Casamada began his studies in architecture but abandoned them to dedicate himself fully to the visual arts, thanks to the support of his father, Albert Ràfols i Cullerés. The painter was awarded the National Prize for Plastic Arts by the Ministry of Culture in 1980, the National Prize for Visual Arts of Catalonia in 2003 and was an honorary academic of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
