Mercedes Gilaberte. From a very young age, she excelled at the National School in Ciudad Pegaso. She was awarded scholarships for her studies. • 1989–1990 – Studied ceramics (Antonio Machado Cultural Center). • 1991–1993 – Studied drawing and painting (Hortaleza Cultural Center). • 1993–1994 – Studied training (C.E.A.S. Canillejas). • 1994–1995 – Studied photography (C.E.A.S. A large-format Cubist composition featuring a grand piano, cello, violin, trumpet, French horn, and guitar, alongside scores by Beethoven and Chopin, on a checkered floor in white and gray. The artist breaks down the instruments into overlapping geometric planes of vibrant colors (ochres, golds, grays, and reds), in a pictorial homage to music and Synthetic Cubism.
