Valérie Jayat's fantastical and dreamlike pictorial settings are, without a doubt, true expressions of our contemporary sociality. Let there be no doubt about it! They trace and reproduce an eminently poetic discourse, sometimes ironic but never cynical, whose thought is simple, free, and evocative. Her dreamlike horizons or perspectives are born from soft, often sculpted colors; then, this initiated territory is populated with human "figures," astonishing creatures, original animals, beings with "other" faces; finally, details or objects are "placed" from Lives suggested rather than spoken.     Alberto Rafols-Casamada (Barcelona, 1923 – 2009), was a poet and painter. Rafols-Casamada began his studies in architecture but abandoned them to dedicate himself fully to the visual arts, thanks to the support of his father, Albert Ràfols i Cullerés. The painter was awarded the National Prize for Plastic Arts by the Ministry of Culture in 1980, the National Prize for Visual Arts of Catalonia in 2003 and was an honorary academic of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
