Autor: Xavier Valls (Barcelona, 1923-2006). Título: Això són figues d'un altre paner. Descripción: grabado firmado a lápiz por el artista. Numerado 87/140. Medidas sin marco 50x65 cm, plancha 19x52 cm. Obra en buenas condiciones. Forma parte de una serie de obras de diversos artistas (Alfaro, Català-Roca, Gudiol, Guinovart, Dalí, Tàpies, Tharrats, Todó, Robert Llimós, Amanda Adams, Hernández Pijuan, Ràfols-Casamada...) recogidas en el libro “L'Art per a un projecte històric : homenatge dels artistes catalans al II Congrés Internacional de la Llengua Catalana». La obra tiene nota grabada en relación a éste, en relieve en el papel. Xavier Valls (Barcelona, 1923-2006) [Nota: padre del político francés Manuel Valls], se exilió y vivió 58 años en París, trató a Tristan Tzara, Giacometti, Léger, Chillida, y aunque trabajó la abstracción, conservó una mirada figurativa, de pinceladas simples y precisas, serenas, y privilegiando el contacto con otros (Alejo Carpentier, Mompou, Montsalvatge, Gabriel Ferrater...). Después de numerosas exposiciones en galerías de París, su primera gran retrospectiva fue en el Musée Ingres de Montauban, a la que seguirán "Archivos y bibliotecas" (Madrid, 1982), Museu d'Art Modern de Barcelona, 1985, con obra en colecciones como el Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, el Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía de Madrid o el Fonds national d'art contemporain de Francia. Xavier Valls fue nombrado Caballero de la Orden de las Artes y las Letras de Francia (1979). Otros galardones son el Premio de la Crítica Prix Drouant de París (1980), la Medalla de Oro al Mérito de las Bellas Artes (1993) y el Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la Generalitat.
