Josep Maria Subirachs i Sitjar (Barcelona 1927-2014) was one of the most internationally prestigious contemporary sculptors, as evidenced by his numerous awards and recognitions, as well as the presence of his Artwork in many museums and public spaces in cities around the world, primarily Barcelona. He also participated in a large number of group and solo exhibitions in museums and public and private galleries. A museum dedicated to his Artwork, the Espai Subirachs, opened in Barcelona in 2017.
