Josep Maria Subirachs i Sitjar (Barcelona, March 11, 1927 – Barcelona, April 7, 2014) was a Spanish sculptor, painter, engraver, set designer, and art critic. He was one of the most internationally renowned contemporary Spanish sculptors, as evidenced by his numerous awards and accolades, as well as the presence of his Artwork in many museums and public spaces in cities around the world, particularly Barcelona. He also participated in a large number of group and solo exhibitions in museums and public and private galleries.
