Author: Romà Vallès (Barcelona 1923 - 2015). Title: Entre segles 1. Description: acrylic on canvas made in 2004 by the Barcelona artist Romà Vallès. Measures without frame 50x50 cm. Certificate of authenticity is attached. Artwork in good condition. Romà Vallès Simplicio is a benchmark of Catalan Informalism. He studied at the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. Starting from an initial figurative stage, his Artwork evolves seamlessly towards abstraction. Having absorbed general phenomena such as Pop-art, informalism, material abstraction, conceptual art and other tendencies of the last decades, his painting has never lost the gestural quality of the line, the lyricism of colour, the refinement of textures and the balance-tension of opposites. In 1959, together with A.Cirici Pellicer and Antoni Cumella, they founded the FAD School of Art in Barcelona and the Espacio Romà Vallès, dedicated to their Artwork, is located in the Antigua Caixa de Terrassa Foundation. He held numerous exhibitions around the world, received many awards and his Artwork is part of different public and private collections.
