  • SKEL-ART. PLANETA PUBLISHING GROUP. A TRIBUTE TO THE MASK OF TUTANKHAMUN, THE GREATEST ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERY IN HISTORY. YEAR: 2022

A TRIBUTE TO THE MASK OF TUTANKHAMUN, THE GREATEST ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERY IN HISTORY. YEAR: 2022 SKEL commemorates the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb with an exact reproduction of his funerary mask, crafted in bronze using the lost-wax casting technique, a complex process involving numerous steps and specialized artisans. This sculpture recreates every detail of the young pharaoh's most characteristic features, such as the cobra or vulture on his forehead, his eyes, his long, curved beard, and, above all, the hieroglyphic writing on the back. An exclusive Artwork in a unique, limited, and numbered edition of nine series of 998 pieces each. The mask of Tutankhamun, discovered by Howard Carter in 1922, is the most beautiful object found in the field of archaeology and the crowning achievement of Egypt's golden age of art and culture. The young pharaoh's reign was brief due to his sudden death, but it served to break with the Amarna period, move the capital to Thebes, and decree a return to polytheism in Egypt with the opening of temples and the granting of privileges to the priests. It is currently on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, awaiting its transfer to the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza. Each sculpture of Tutankhamun's mask bears, on its inner back, the name of the pharaoh, along with the name and number of a precious stone, as well as a notarized document certifying its quality. For greater prominence, the sculpture rests on a travertine marble base. The sculpture is accompanied by the book *Tutankhamun: The Pharaoh, His Tomb, and the Royal Treasures*, an exploration of the most enigmatic pharaoh of Ancient Egypt through a series of insightful studies by four specialists, including the renowned archaeologist, Egyptologist, and former Minister of Antiquities, Zahi Hawass, one of the world's leading figures in Egyptian culture and art. This large-format book features spectacular images showcasing the pharaoh's mask and sarcophagus, many of the objects found in his tomb—part of Tutankhamun's vast treasure—and a comprehensive collection of photographs taken during the tomb's discovery and exploration in the 1920s. The sculpture and book are presented in an elegant black case that protects and stores the set. Its distinctive and attractive design also makes it a suitable decorative piece.

  • Antoni Gaudí (Gaudí in the foreground)

The history of Catalan Modernist architecture is built upon the name of Antoni Gaudí, the genius inseparable from the city of Barcelona, whose Artwork and essence have transcended borders. ARTIKA presents Gaudí Up Close, a project that began to take shape more than a decade ago, with the aim of revealing some of the artist's most insightful facets, which, despite their historical significance, remained unknown to the public. "The Artwork is exhibited in a wooden sculpture-case featuring a handcrafted reproduction of one of the emblematic chimneys of Casa Milà (La Pedrera), known as the warriors." The case houses two volumes and an architect's portfolio that offer a unique and detailed view of the artist. A bilingual artist's book in Spanish and English, hand-numbered and limited to 4,998 copies, compiles previously unpublished material on the architect and reveals his most insightful facets—a legacy of extraordinary value. The Art Book allows you to admire 48 of Gaudí's drawings in their original size, revealing the most evocative, rich, surprising, and beautiful details of his universe. The Study Book offers a selection of previously unpublished articles on Gaudí by experts: architect and director of the Gaudí Chair, Juan José Lahuerta; architects Jordi Faulí and Chiara Curti; art historian Joan Aicart; and Dr. Mireia Freixa, who provides a detailed study of the drawings. The architect's portfolio reveals reproductions of three plans, with their conservation folds, of his major projects: a beautiful design for a pier (1876); the original project for the façade of Casa Milà (1906); and the first plan for the demonstration of the Sagrada Familia's visibility (1916).

  • Michelangelo Buonarroti (Michelangelo: Drawings)

Michelangelo: Drawings is an exclusive artist's book that showcases the Renaissance genius's career through the most important and complete collection of drawings and sketches held by the British Museum. Reflecting the purest spirit of the genius, the Artwork is presented in a sculptural case featuring David as its central figure: a symbol of Florence, a milestone in anatomical study, and an unmistakable sculpture. In this case, the figure appears to emerge liberated from the block of marble, just as the artist conceived his Artwork. Inside, it houses, on one side, the Art Book: a unique opportunity to access the soul of Michelangelo through 75 drawings from the British Museum's collection, reproduced in exquisite detail. Sketches for later Artworks, anatomical studies, or gifts for his loved ones: with each drawing, we discover a new secret of the artist. For its part, the Book of Studies brings together the reflections and analyses of great experts on the Artwork and figure of Michelangelo: Hugo Chapman, Simon Sainsbury curator of the Prints & Drawings department of the British Museum, Sarah Vowles, Smirnov Family curator of Italian and French drawings and prints, and Matthias Wivel, curator specializing in 16th century Italian paintings at the National Gallery in London.

  • Fernando Botero (Stations of the Cross)

In 2012, Fernando Botero donated his Stations of the Cross series to the Museum of Antioquia in Medellín. Now, on the occasion of his 90th birthday, he has transformed this masterpiece into an artistic edition that pays homage to the people of Colombia. This is the artist's book that connects the history of art with the memory of the Master. Botero's involvement is present in every detail of this artist's book, created in collaboration with the Museum of Antioquia. It is presented in a display case. Made of methacrylate with a removable side frame, in a vibrant red and bearing the artist's embossed signature, it allows access to the two volumes. An open window dedicated to the grandeur of the Colombian Master's art. The Art Book includes the 34 drawings from the series, reproduced with absolute fidelity to the originals, created in pencil and watercolor on paper. "Each plate is accompanied by a quote from the Bible, printed on semi-transparent red paper." The cover of this bilingual edition, in Spanish and English, features a previously unpublished image, printed on canvas: a silhouetted detail from the oil painting Near the Cross (2010), belonging to the artist's private collection. The key aspects of Botero's Artwork are analyzed in detail in the articles compiled in the Book of Studies. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, former Director-General of UNESCO, highlights the artist's significant contribution to the universalization of culture and art, and David Ebony, an American critic, reviews the key elements of Botero's style. As exceptional contributors to the Museum of Antioquia, its Director General, María del Rosario Escobar, offers a panoramic view of the transformation of Medellín and Botero's role in this change. Camilo Castaño, the museum's curator, provides an overview of the artist's Artwork and analyzes the series in depth, particularly each of the 34 drawings.
