A TRIBUTE TO THE MASK OF TUTANKHAMUN, THE GREATEST ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERY IN HISTORY. YEAR: 2022 SKEL commemorates the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb with an exact reproduction of his funerary mask, crafted in bronze using the lost-wax casting technique, a complex process involving numerous steps and specialized artisans. This sculpture recreates every detail of the young pharaoh's most characteristic features, such as the cobra or vulture on his forehead, his eyes, his long, curved beard, and, above all, the hieroglyphic writing on the back. An exclusive Artwork in a unique, limited, and numbered edition of nine series of 998 pieces each. The mask of Tutankhamun, discovered by Howard Carter in 1922, is the most beautiful object found in the field of archaeology and the crowning achievement of Egypt's golden age of art and culture. The young pharaoh's reign was brief due to his sudden death, but it served to break with the Amarna period, move the capital to Thebes, and decree a return to polytheism in Egypt with the opening of temples and the granting of privileges to the priests. It is currently on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, awaiting its transfer to the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza. Each sculpture of Tutankhamun's mask bears, on its inner back, the name of the pharaoh, along with the name and number of a precious stone, as well as a notarized document certifying its quality. For greater prominence, the sculpture rests on a travertine marble base. The sculpture is accompanied by the book *Tutankhamun: The Pharaoh, His Tomb, and the Royal Treasures*, an exploration of the most enigmatic pharaoh of Ancient Egypt through a series of insightful studies by four specialists, including the renowned archaeologist, Egyptologist, and former Minister of Antiquities, Zahi Hawass, one of the world's leading figures in Egyptian culture and art. This large-format book features spectacular images showcasing the pharaoh's mask and sarcophagus, many of the objects found in his tomb—part of Tutankhamun's vast treasure—and a comprehensive collection of photographs taken during the tomb's discovery and exploration in the 1920s. The sculpture and book are presented in an elegant black case that protects and stores the set. Its distinctive and attractive design also makes it a suitable decorative piece.
